Eric is a multi-award winning performer and educator. An engaging performer, Eric's creative programs exemplify his diversity as a musician. From the pristine passages of Francisco da Milano to the intricate polyrhythms of Dusan Bogdanovic Eric is able to take the listener through a musical journey.
In 1997, Eric received his Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of music where he studied performance, composition, and improvisation with internationally acclaimed guitarist/composer Dusan Bogdanovic. He has performed in the master classes or studied with such distinguished guitarists as: Manuel Barrueco, Eliot Fisk, Christopher Parkening, David Russell, David Tanenbaum and Jose Tomas.
A recipient of the Music Teacher's Association scholarship in 1991-92, Eric has also received talent scholarships from the University of Redlands and San Francisco Conservatory. Upon graduating from the University of Redlands, Eric was named School of Music performer of the year. He also received a grant from the Leni Fe Bland Foundation. Most recently, Eric was awarded a full tuition scholarship to perform in master classes at the Bath International Guitar Festival and Competition in England.
Residing in Sonoma County, Eric performs regularly throughout the Bay Area as a soloist and chamber musician. He performs regularly with guitarist Stuart Green as the Cabalo/Green Duo. A dedicated educator, Eric is the director of classical guitar studies at Sonoma State University. In addition he teaches privately and is the founder/director of 12th Fret Guitar Studios, a guitar program providing classical guitar instruction for children and adults. When he isn't practicing, performing or teaching Eric enjoys spending time with his wife, Molly and their son Dorian and cat, Kobe.
